If you are new to the world of yarn crafts you might not know that knitting and crocheting have long had a rivalry. I don’t know who started it but it’s as old as sheep and there’s no good reason for it.
For the love of yarn, let’s stop the fighting. Knitting and crocheting are different, like apples and oranges, both need yarn and some kind of stick but after that they go their own ways. Neither is better or easier just different. And I maintain there’s a place for both in our homemade lives, just like apples and oranges.
And there’s something else, as lovers of making it’s our duty to educate the people of the world. I want to arm you with all the information needed to set that guy at the kids gymnastic class straight when he asks you if you are knitting and it’s totally obvious that you are only working with one needle, of course you are crocheting, d’uh! Only don’t say the d’uh part out loud, that’s just for us.
OK, group hug. We’re a non-discriminatory yarn loving group from here on in.
